Threat Intelligence Analyst

The Threat Intelligence Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating actionable intelligence about current and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybercriminal tactics that could potentially impact the organization’s information systems and assets. This role plays a critical part in informing the organization’s cybersecurity strategy and enabling a proactive approach to managing cyber risks.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze threat intelligence from various sources, such as open-source feeds, industry forums, commercial threat intelligence platforms, and internal security logs.Identify and assess the relevance, credibility, and potential impact of threat intelligence on the organization’s specific environment and risk profile.Develop and maintain a threat intelligence repository, ensuring that it is up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.Produce and disseminate actionable intelligence reports, alerts, and briefings to inform decision-making and drive appropriate security measures across the organization. Collaborate with other security professionals and departments to integrate threat intelligence into the organization’s security operations, vulnerability management, incident response, and risk management processes.Provide support in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards based on the latest threat intelligence.Stay informed about current and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybercriminal tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).Assist in security awareness training and initiatives for employees, incorporating the latest threat intelligence.

  • Enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture by providing timely and actionable threat intelligence.Enable a proactive approach to managing cyber risks by informing decision-making and security measures.Support the organization’s overall cybersecurity strategy and risk management efforts.
  • These three roles within Security Operations (Security Analyst, Incident Responder, and Threat Intelligence Analyst) work together to create a strong defense against cyber threats. They are essential in maintaining the organization’s cybersecurity posture, minimizing the impact of security incidents, and staying ahead of emerging threats. Each role has specific responsibilities and goals but collaborates with the others to ensure comprehensive security coverage for the organization.
